Yolanda Kay Hollins was born in Las Vegas, Nevada to Barbara Jean Adams and Thomas Vaughn on April 3,1956. Yolanda attended and graduated from Clark High School in 1973. She worked within the Hospitality industry starting as a Chambermaid and eventually serving as a Cocktail waitress for over 14 years.

In 2011, Yolanda made her transition into the medical field graduating from Anthem Institute as a fully certified MA and later becoming a certified Phlebotomist, Lab Technician and Lab Operator in 2012. Yolanda concluded her education after becoming a certified Eligibility Pharmacy Specialist for Humana. She accomplished these great things all while working full time and raising her daughter Vonta by herself.

She took great pride in being a Mother. The highlight of her Motherhood was becoming a loving grandmother. She had many talents including crocheting. She was known as an excellent cook and was most famous for her tamales and egg rolls, which she would often sell out of by the dozen very quickly.

In 2017, she was diagnosed with cancer and won that battle; using that time to spend with the ones she loved and to give back to others.

In 2018, she provided over 75 families with full course dinners for Thanksgiving. Yolanda Kay Hollins was a true guardian, of all the titles she held, she loved being 'Vonta's Mom' most.

On Monday, February 22, 2021, Yolanda peacefully passed away with her daughter and family by her bedside as she transitioned.

Yolanda Kay Hollins is survived by her daughter, Vonta Moffett, two grandchildren, Hannah and Mai'kuh Ware, her brother Lionel Hollins, her niece Jacqueline Hollins-Butts, her nephews: Lamont, Anthony, and Austin Hollins, and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, and honorary children.

Kay's mother and my mother were 1st cousins, the daughters of of 2 sisters. Growing up, our family was tight-knit and inseparable. While coming of age, I always admired "Kay-Kay" and Lionel and respected them as my big cousins. But alas, my God has called my warrior cousin home (Kay was a powerful and dynamic force in this world) where many of our family members have a awaited her arrival. I miss you for now, but in due time I'm meet you on High. Until we meet again, I Love You!
