Obituary

Javonte Martez Boykin was born on December 4, 1983 in Las Vegas, Nevada to Andrea Boykin and Dwayne Gates, Sr. Javonte was a very ambitious and intelligent young man. Hence the reason he ranked top of his class in high school.

Though he didn't complete high school on the traditional path, he continued to work hard and obtained his GED and later acquired his high school diploma. After finishing his high school accomplishments, Javonte went on to medical school where he once again ranked top of his class and obtained his Medical certification.

Javonte has a charismatic and loving personality which led him to acquire and establish fond memories with family and friends. Javonte was a beast on the grill when he would cook with his uncle Teddy. To know him was to love him. His heart was pure and he was loved by anyone that he came in contact with.

On December 8, 2020, Javonte left his earthly home to be with the Lord.

Javonte was preceded in death by his grandmother; Mildred Boykin, uncles; Eric Boykin, Fredrick Boykin, Nathaniel Boykin and Lamont Boykin, aunts; Debra Boykin and Alice Jones.

Javonte leaves to cherish his memory, his parents; Andrea Boykin (Anthony Brown) and Dwayne Gates, Sr. His pride and joy, Jaidah Boykin (his only child), four sisters; Monique Baker (Tina), Markiesha Gaston, Sharmithia Gates (Julie), Charmain Gates, six brothers; Dwayne Jr. Gates (Lea), Avant, Darius, Leander, Alex Gates and Jaquelle Proby, five aunts; Myrtle Jones, Gertrude Boykin, Linda Love (Teddy), Janice Boykin and Vanessa Gates, two uncles; Anthony Boykin and Elijah Boykin, one special friend; Latoya Turner and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
